Experimental Work
As my practise is based on Environmentalism I am on a mission of making my work more sustainable. I am currently experimenting in a few areas to do so. I create such large scaled paintings which involve me using plenty of materials including photography prints, paints, charcoal and much more. So my first step was to downsize my paintings but also use less artificial materials and instead take my paintings out into nature. Doing this allowed me to come up with some exciting concepts and visually show something man made (my painting) taking over a form of nature. I want to continue to experiment with this as the outcome was very successful and has so much potential to develop into something much more than just a concept.
Instead of just reducing my materials, I started to experiment with using organic, 100% natural resources to create "paintings" with. I created floral and soil pulps using lemon juice and hot water to create these astonishing flower paintings. I believe with some additional time and experimentation I could produce much stronger paintings using this method.
